Hi friends,
As you can tell, it’s been a fun and busy few months for me. I’ve been filming my books for our local children’s hospital, and the process of recording them has been delightful. The people around me who created the backdrop, dressed me up, filmed the readings, and then put it all together have been true professionals. In other words, they make it look easy! These recordings will go into the rooms of children in hospitals all over the world, as they wait for surgeries or procedures, or begin the process of healing. My hope is that it takes their minds off their worries for a little while.
It’s always a joy to see my book, Love Is, being celebrated along with so many other beautiful stories that remind us that we are all in this world together. I hope the photos that I’m sharing below capture the many creative people out there and their beautiful renditions of my story, in turn, making it their own.
On a personal note, my son was married last year and we celebrated it in India, where his wife’s family lives. It was a highlight of my life, with meeting new people, learning about different cultures, dancing with new family members, and speaking through smiles and hugs. It was the true meaning of communicating beyond language. It also started me writing again about the beauty of poetry, the meaningfulness of people of all ages and groups working together in love, and experiencing new things with open arms. I sure laughed at myself quite a bit, and made more mistakes than I can count, but the blessing of being accepted as I was, was life changing.
I wish for you a summer of good surprises, kind people, and openness to making mistakes and growing from them. Thank you for reading my books, and those of others who want to make the world a better place.
Love and hugs,
Diane
